| Before installing Windy31, please make sure the minimum requirements have been established: |

- Intel Pentium IV or above
- 512M bytes system memory or above
- Windows XP/VISTA Operating Systems ( Support auto-installation for Windows XP or above )
- USB 1.1 or USB 2.0
- Requires more than 30Mbytes of usable hard disk space |

| Computer to be installed with Windy31 must have more than one LAN Adapter. Computer to be installed with Windy31 must have Internet connection. |

| Please check your computer for Virus and Spyware before installation. Some Viruses and Spywares may interfere with automatic installation of Widny31 driver and utility programs |
|
| 1) Insert Windy31 into USB port of your laptop or desktop PC, and program will automatically run as shown below |
|
 |
|
| 2) Once the program is installed, the following screen will appear on the bottom right of the screen, indicating that the USB device is acknowledged and the installation of Windy31 is in progress. |
|
 |
|
During installation, Windows Security Alert may display “Keep blocking” &
“Unblock” pop-up for security reasons, please select the button “unblock”.
(If you select “keep blocking”, there will be no network connection.) |
|
 |
|
| 3) Please wait until “Windy31 Gateway Manager” window appears, “Windy31 setting in-progress" and "setting complete" windows will be displayed as shown below. This process will take a few minutes as it installs Windy31 Gateway. (Installation time may differ according to computer configuration) |

| 4) In Step 3, After the “Program has been successfully installed“ message, click “OK”. Windy31 has completed the installation. |
|

- To use wireless LAN service in Windows 98/ME/2000, please use wireless connection program provided by
wireless LAN adapter manufacturers |

- Subnet Mask : Windy31 uses C-class by default.(255.255.255.0)

| Troubleshooting |
|
| I. Before Inserting Windy31 to Host PC |
|
- Please ensure that Windy31 must be inserted to a computer that is already connected
to the internet. |
|
- Please check your PC for Virus and Spyware, before installation. Some Viruses and
Spywares may interfere with automatic installation of Windy31 driver and utility
programs. |
|
| II. Trouble with Installation |
|
| 1. PC does not recognize Windy31. |
|
| ☞ If other PCs do not recognize Windy31 as well, the following Windy31 is defective. Please e-mail or call us for a refund or exchange. |
|
| 2. PC recognizes Windy31 but it does not proceed to auto installation. |
|
| ☞ Manually install Windy31 (Double click on "My Computer" - Right click on "Windy31 Virtual Drive"- Double click on "Windy31install.exe") |
|
| 3. Cannot detect virtual CD-ROM Drive nor process further at storage device detection |
|
| ☞ Remove storage device from device management, rescan hardware detection,then reinstall. If you get the same problem again, please check USB port. |
|
| 4. Windy31's installation process stops operating and repeats on a loop. |
|
| ☞ For Toshiba laptops, DVD Ram Disk / DVD Ram Driver may cause problems. Delete the files mentioned above, reboot and reinstall Windy31. (Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs) |
|
| 5. During installation, Windy31 enabler dialog does not appear and jumps to LAN Adapter mode promptly. |
|
☞ Check the service status in the windows service category WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation). If there is a problem in WMI, Windy31 cannot be configured in the Windows service. Please check your computer.
* Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Service and Application -> Check if WMI control status runs properly. |
|
| III. Trouble with Connection |
|
| (1) On Host PC |
|
| 1. Windy31 is installed completely and trying to connect to Windy31 from another wireless device, but the connection is blocked or not established. |
|
| ☞ You will see this message if windy31 is installed on a personal firewall software operating computer.(Such as, Zone Alarm, McAfee Personal Firewall, My Firewall, Sygate Personal Firewall, Etc.) |
|
☞ Reconnect after temporary deactivation of firewall program.
* To allow internet connection in firewall software program, refer to each software’s Instruction guide or manual. |
|
| 2. Windy31 Enabler’s number keeps on looping. |
|
☞ 1) Number loops between 0X and 4X
Solution: Check viruses and Spywares, delete and reboot. Then reinstall.
2) Number loops between 50 and 59
Solution: If you have your firewall turned on, turn it off. Reboot and reinstall.
If the firewall is turned off, check virus and Spywares, delete and reboot to reinstall.
3) Number loops between 60 and 69
Solution: need to check the PC's network settings. If this happens, please e-mail or call us for further information.
4) Number loops between 7X - 8X
Solution: Shut down“Windy31 Enabler.exe”. Reinstall Windy31. |

| 3. When you reboot your computer or reconnect Windy31, Windy31 Enabler will be restarted automatically again. |
|
| ☞ Whenever Windy31 reconnects, Windy31 Enabler will restart the setup automatically. |
|
| (2) On Client Wi-Fi Device |
|
| 1. Successfully installed but cannot get on the internet. |
|
☞ Need to change settings on the network connections (On Client PC)
1) Start - control panel - network connections - right click on "Local Area Connection (wireless internet connection)” - select 'properties'
2) On General tab, scroll down until you see 'internet Protocol (TCP/IP)'. Click on 'properties'
3) Make sure you check on 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Use the Following DNS server address' and input the host computer's DNS address.
* Host Computer: The PC that has Windy31 plugged in.
Client Computer: The PC you want to get internet connection.
*Tip: To check your Host Computer's IP Address and DNS address, follow the instructions below.
(Start - Run - Type "cmd" then press enter - Type “ipconfig -all” then press enter / You'll get your computer’s IP address and DNS address.) |

| 2. Internet does not work on client Wi-Fi device even though it is connected to Windy31. |
|
☞ Please check the IP Address of wireless client
☞ "Start"->"Run"->type "cmd"->type "ipconfig/all" then you can see the IP address of wireless client. It must be 192.168.33.xxx |
|
| 3. Client Wi-Fi device cannot receive the IP address even if you unblocked the firewall and security setting. |
|
| ☞ You must directly input the IP address. Please refer to the Installation Guide, “Directly input IP address” on pages 27 and 28. |
|
| 4. You cannot access internet on client Wi-Fi device for a long time if the host computer turns to power saving mode |
|
☞ 1. Do not use power saving mode at host computer.
☞ 2. Or reconnect the Windy31 to the host computer.
|
|
| 5. “svchost.exe” error occurs during the usage of Windy31 or the installation of Windy31 S/W |
|
☞ After the un-installation of Windy31 S/W, check your computer for virus and spyware, and update the operating system to its latest version. Then install Windy31 again.
|
|

For advanced support, we offer remote access control service. Our engineer logs into your computer to find and solve the problem right away so that you may not have any problem using Windy31 again.
This service is offered only when you are present at your computer and give our engineer the permission to log on to your computer. It is perfectly under your supervision and you can stop the service at anytime.
When this service is requested, our technical support agent will ask for your permission and schedule the service. Service is available from 8pm to10pm (EST/EDT). |
